Moving Man Question- How does the mass of the object effect the distance it travels with the applied force of 230N. Hypothesis- The filing cabnet will only move a little, the refridgator will not move at all, the text book will move pretty far, and the sleepy dog will move more than the cabnet, but less than the book. Dependent Variable- How far it moves. Indepedent Variable- The mass of the object. Observations- Filing Cabnet: Didn't move at all. Refridgerator: Didn't move at all. Text Book: Moved quickly, and went pass the house. Sleepy Dog: Moved slowly, but goes pretty far.
Conclusion
In our lab, the text book moved the farthest and the refridgerator or the cabinet didn't move. The dog moved slightly. How far the object moved depended on the mass of the object. This happened because the fridge and the cabnet were very massive compared to the dog and the book.
